Hello and welcome to
all residents, visitors and friends of Kingswood, Bristol.
This is my personal
Internet contribution to KGS and KOSA.
Let me introduce
myself and say hello again, after so many years, to all former
pupils and staff - be they friends or foes.
My name is Bob Meaker
- maybe some of you will remember me and write a line or two in
my KGS Guestbook - but hopefully
not those who:
1. I still owe money to.
(I can send you Euros, but you'll have to wait a while)
2. I fought with in the school.
(That means than none of the boys will write)
3. I cribbed from.
(Ok - so none of the girls will write either)
4. Had longer hair than I did at the time.
(I don't think there was anyone, apart from the girls)
5. I had fun with behind the bike sheds.
(Just a joke - we didn't indulge in such things at KGS in the
60's)
6. Don't like Rock 'n Roll, or the Beatles, or the Stones,
or steam trains.
(Or skinny dipping in Wick quarry)
7. I borrowed records from.
(Especially - Roger Slade and Ronnie Rawbone - Hi friends)
8. Were teechers hoo tawt me Inglisch and want to korrekt
my spellin.
(Forget it - it's too late - you can't teach an old Bob new
tricks)

OK - As you can
see, I'm still a joker ... but seriously:
For all of you who don't know, there is a superb magazine, produced
by the
"Kingswood Old Scholars Association",
called the KOSA NEWS.
I've been receiving
the "KOSA NEWS" magazine, here in Spain, for
some time now and hope that someone out there can do something
in the way of creating and maintaining a "KOSA" website
which will do justice to both the old scholars' magazine and the
school itself.
We were together during
the formative years, so why can't we use the new tech to exchange
anecdotes, photos, email addresses, etc. I will try to collect
and pass on as much information as I can. The rest is up to you!
Thanks - Bob Meaker.
PS - You can read some more about me and the others on the "profiles
page"
