Welcome to all friends of the former Kingswood Grammar School (now Kingsfield), Kingswood, Bristol, England - UK

We are looking for serious information about the school
but it seems hard to find
- can you contribute?

Its history, famous scholars, or just general information.

Whatever - we need your support and ideas.

As soon as we have something, we will publish it.

If you have any photos for us to include, click here for more info.

In the meantime, below are a couple things to note.

(2009 Sept. 05th) 1980 Class Reunion?
My name is Linda Herbert, formerly Linda Small (1975 - 1981, 1 yr at sixth form).
As it's coming up to 30 years since the 1980 class left, I would like to see if it is feasible to organise some sort of reunion, party, get together. However to achieve this not only will I need some help from my fellow ex-Kingsfielders, but I will also need to find some way of contacting the ex-pupils to let them know.I appreciate that there could be some data protection issues, but was wondering if you were able to provide me with any info on the pupils from the above year even if it is old family addresses so I could start to track people down. I am in touch with a number of old friends through Facebook, but there are many that I cannot find.Thank you for any help that you are able to give me.

(2009 Sept. 04th) Does anyone remenber Ivor John Burge - email
I This may be a long shot in the dark !!! but i am trying to trace my late brother Ivor John Burge ,who was a teacher at Kingswood school until it burnt down in (1980 early 1990s?). Ivor was into the Arts and did Kendo and other martial Arts ,i unfortunately lost contact with him due to a spell abroad and then of course he died in Bristol ,he was a teacher of Kendo at one point . Due to unforseen circumstances i was unable to be with him when he died and would love to find out what he did at the school .
Ivor set up a trust in memory of my mother Edith Burge for deaf children but he became ill and was not able to
continue. I know this is a possible dead end ,but would love to know if you remember him at all ?.
Thanks for taking time to read this and look forward to hearing from you if possible i would be extremely grateful
for any info at all. I just would love to be able to recap some of his life .
Thanks again. Mrs Pamela Burge

(2008 Feb. 20th) A BBC request - email
I am researching for a documentary called ‘Playground Britannia’. Its being made for BBC4 by Testimony Films. The programme will trace trends in childhood play and games throughout the last century. At the moment I am sending out appeals to try and find people that could provide us with stories of their childhood. We need a range of people. We’re looking for people that were children in the first few decades of last century up until children of the eighties. I found your site and I wondered whether there would be any chance of advertising our appeal. This is a genuine request for your help.

If that is possible my number is 0117 925 8589 Many thanks, Emily Sivyer - www.testimonyfilms.com

(2007 November) A question from Tim Anderson (Teacher at Kingsfield) - email
My name is Tim Anderson. I am currently a teacher/governor at Kingsfield. This year we commemorated the fallen of the First World War, and succeeding wars through reading In Flanders Fields, watching a powerpoint slide show, and then reading Aftermath in assembly on Monday 12th November. A colleague wondered if we could find out a roll of honour for 1914 -1918 of those who fell and had been at the school. So, with next year in mind, I have begun to think about reading those names (of course many of the surnames will be identical to our current pupils'). Was Kingswood Grammar extant then?
